Snow Update – June 2022

CSS-22 To start with I hope everyone is enjoying or has already enjoyed Father’s Day. My family (children and grandchildren) should be over shortly, and I will no doubt enjoy their visit immensely. They are the reason I speak out against the Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming (CAGW) alarmist narrative. There are other reasons, but the motivation comes from making the world a better place for my family. Your family will also benefit. This post touches on a small but important component of Climate Change, snow. The update this year is no different than the last five years. Snowfall in the Northern Hemisphere is once again significantly above normal despite the many statements that snow will be a thing of the past, your children will not know what snow is, ski hills will be going out of business, etc. I added a little solar activity to the discussion this year, just to mix things up. There are fluctuations in NH snow cover (maximums and minimums) from year to year (decade to decade) and they do seem to loosely line up with the Sunspot cycles. Correlation/causation, make up your mind. But I can guarantee that the fluctuations are not due to CO₂, and they are not trending in the right direction for the CAGW alarmist narrative.

The snow cover mirrors most areas of discussion when it comes to “Climate Change”. The data does not back up the CAGW alarmist narrative.

• Hurricanes are getting stronger and more numerous! No, they are not (OPS-57 – Hurricane Update – 2021 Season)
• Forest Fires are increasing, becoming more intense and causing more damage! No, they are not increasing (CSS-17 – Forest Fires – March 2022). Burn Acreage is a fraction of the levels experienced in the pre-industrial era and only 20% of the levels experienced in the much hotter years of the Dirty Thirties. They might be more intense, but that is due to poor forest management allowing an excessive build-up in fuel on the forest floor. And damage is up because more human activity has pressed further into the forest.
• Sea Ice is disappearing! No, it is not (apart from the natural thaws that happen yearly in the summer). CSS-11 – Snow and Ice Update – July 2021 shows that the Minimum Arctic Sea Ice has been flat for the last 14 years and the Antarctic Sea Ice Minimum has also been flat. Not surprising, since Antarctica experienced its coldest EVER 6-month period last year (the culmination of a 40 year decline in temperature).
• Sea Levels Rise is accelerating! No, it is not (at least not in the tidal gauge data where it matters). OPS-23 – Sea Levels and CSS-18 – Sea Level and Climate Drivers. Tidal gauge data around the world continues to rise in a linear trend (indicating no acceleration) despite the frenzy of projected coastal flooding.

The same story plays out for droughts, floods, etc. The data just does not back up the CAGW narrative.

The general public needs to wake up to the dangers that the CAGW narrative presents. This is all about control. If you control CO₂ emissions, you control energy. And if you control energy, you control the people. We have been on a slow, arduous path to socialism with the CAGW alarmist narrative leading the way. That path has been accelerated with the unnecessary lockdowns, passports, etc. implemented during this COVID-19 fiasco. The same techniques are being discussed to force compliance on the climate file. There is no scientific justification (i.e.: empirical data) for the Climate Change Initiatives that have been and are continuing to be forced on us (through entities like the WEF and the United Nations).

But the push back must start with the general public (the electorate). Politicians are only implementing these idiotological policies because the electorate has allowed them to (notwithstanding any election hijinks that may or may not have happened). We are being pushed towards an unelected, unaccountable, totalitarian One World government. Our Prime Minister (Justin), over half of his cabinet and his betrothed (Jagmeet) are already beholding to Klaus Schwab (the head of the WEF through the Young Global Leaders program). Make up your own mind on who is pulling Joe Biden’s strings. I will be dragged kicking and screaming into that future. My children and grandchildren’s future depends on that. The fallout from decades of climate propaganda and wasteful spending is just starting to affect your lives (not in a good way). The folly of the Green New Deal, Net Zero, ESG and any other green emission scheme they force on us, will quickly bury our economies and our current lifestyles. People are waking up to the totalitarian restrictions being placed on our existence. But that process needs to accelerate and fast. My focus will continue to be Climate Change, but there are many fronts to fight back (peacefully of course). Choose yours!
