Anyone that has honestly reviewed the historical data knows that the global temperatures have always cycled up and down. We just cycled up (out of the Little Ice Age), plateaued (i.e.; the “pause”) over the first 15 years of this century and have just started the new down cycle into the next Grand Solar Minimum (GSM). The CO₂ warming over the MTR (whatever the magnitude), will be greatly appreciated since that CO₂ warming limits the total GSM temperature drop.

Another benefit of placing this Summary in the political section, is very simply I can be political. “Climate Change” passed out of the scientific and into the political realm decades ago. The IPCC in its own documents has made things clear that the fight against “Global Warming” (then “Climate Change”) was not about the environment, it is about transferring wealth from the Developed Countries to the Third World. The UN and its idiotalogues (I mean idealogues) are using fear porn to push the world’s population into a poorer and more subservient role. They want a One World Government and the socialist (communist) control that brings. The more recent COVID-19 situation has ratcheted up the fear porn to new levels. The result, a few more steps towards a new era of Western Socialism/Communism. The same tactics used in “Climate Change” (unvalidated/inaccurate computer models, questionable assumptions, ignored data, weaponized media, “authoritative (expert) sources”, etc.) are being used with COVID-19 to push the socialist/communist narrative ever higher. It is time for the general population to start waking up! I will look at the COVID-19 data in my first Political Short Story (PSS-1, coming soon).

Very simply, the Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming (CAGW) theory is purely political. There is no empirical CO₂/Temperature data (a basic scientific requirement) that shows CO₂ driving the climate on any statistically significant historical time scale. The IPCC Computer Models are used to generate the “catastrophic” temperature increases that are going to destroy the planet. There are a few problems with those models.

1. They ignore the majority of the available solar forcings. They include the Total Solar Irradiance (TSI) which is a small portion of those forcings. That ignores solar winds, cosmic rays, electromagnetic fluctuations, UV radiation, high energy particles, etc. For 4 billion years, the sun (directly and indirectly) has been driving the global temperatures on this planet, but because the IPCC programmers have made the decree that CO₂ is now the main (almost only) climate driver and the sun is no longer allowed to influence our temperatures. I do not think so.
2. The “catastrophic” temperatures are generated by using a virtually impossible “business-as-usual” scenario (RCP-8.5). To achieve RCP-8.5 CO₂ emission levels, coal use would have to increase 5 to 7 times. And let us not forget this quote from the IPCC, “The climate system is a coupled non-linear chaotic system, and therefore the long-term prediction of future exact climate states is not possible.”
3. The theoretical CO₂ warming capacity (1 °C warming per CO₂ doubling and assuming the narrow CO₂ absorption band is not already saturated (refer to CSS-3)) is not high enough to reach those “catastrophic” temperatures without using a fudge factor (or as they might label it, a positive water vapour feedback) that magnifies the CO₂ effect (3 to 4 times). Again, a theory that has no empirical data backing that theory up. To be fair, warming from CO₂, can lead to more water in the atmosphere, but that water can take many forms in the atmosphere. Water vapour can add to warming, but water in the form of clouds, snow, hail (precipitation in general) leads to cooling. And just to expand the IPCC quote above, clouds (let alone the entire climate) are too complicated to be modelled since the cloud/climate interactions are poorly understood.
4. The planet’s historical temperature has been around 5 °C warmer than those “catastrophic” temperatures through 70% of the planet’s last 600 million years (a continuous period of significant biodiversity). Life has thrived in periods of both high (4000+ ppm) and the currently low (420 ppm) CO₂ concentrations. The CO₂ concentrations are lower during the deep ice ages (down to 180 ppm just 12,000 years ago). Every deep ice age has had a continuously lower CO₂ concentration. If that downward trend is not corrected the planet will be lifeless within a few million years (a blink in geological time). Plants need a minimum of 150 ppm CO₂ to survive. No plants, no animals, nothing! Our current 420 ppm is close to plant starvation levels. Plants would be much healthier and hardier with levels above 1000 ppm. I doubt that we will ever get to those levels, but we should. The additional CO₂ we have and will continue to emit will extend the planet’s life substantially. The planet needs more CO₂. Any CO₂ emissions will be beneficial provided there are no real pollutants associated with those emissions.
