Canadian Deficits – November Update
OPPS-8 This OPPS just updates my first OPPS on Justin Trudeau’s (JT’s) Federal Liberal budgetary incompetence. The references in this document are readily available (with links) on my website (climatechangeandmusic.com).
I think it is fitting that this post comes out a couple of days after Halloween. What the JT Liberal first term government has done was initially scary, transitioning to frightening early in the second term and is moving on to an absolute nightmare (with his “green “progressive” recovery plan and build back better” talking points (plus the UN Great Reset)). A sharp contrast from this Halloween where we had a total of 4 Trick or Treaters (2 Pineapples (my grandkids) and 2 chocolate chip cookies). Not that scary, until you include the educational/psychological damage we are doing to our children with these COVID-19 lockdowns.

In OPPS-1, I showed that JT said the 2015-19 four-year deficit was going to be 23.9 B$. He was a little off, it came in at a mere 72.7 B$. That was a 300+% underestimate of taxpayer money. In the real world, he would have been fired on the spot. Unfortunately, he does not live in the real world and the Canadian voters gave him a chance to do it all over again. This go round, he started off with a more realistic first year deficit of 19.7 B$ (albeit one of his own making). The COVID-19 pandemic response made short work of that forecast. At an estimated 342.2 B$ (deficit, not debt), we have blown through that 19.7 B$ estimate. JT could be (but should not be) forgiven for making the same mistake on COVID-19 as virtually every other country in the world. Unfortunately, JT has made us No.1 in the G-20 when it comes to deficit spending (as a function of GDP) and by a large margin. He has willingly shown the same determination to virtual signal on COVID-19 as he has with the “Climate Change Crisis”. And we the taxpayer will be paying dearly for that for generations to come.
JT is more than willing to foolishly spend the Canadian Taxpayer’s money. At a time when we need to reduce discretionary spending, he is coming out of his designer socks to direct money (borrowed) to uneconomic, ineffectual green renewable initiatives and international idiotological initiatives (and no that is not a spelling mistake). A rational “Canadian” would focus on the Canadian people first and would put off these expensive green initiatives for a few years until we could “maybe” afford them. Unfortunately, the Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming (CAGW) alarmist crowd (JT included) are not rational. Remember, assuming the 2015 Paris Accord Commitments were upheld by every country and the IPCC science is correct, the temperature reduction in 2100 would be a whopping 0.048 C. Refer to my OPS-17 post for more detail and links (climatechangeandmusic.com). Canada’s 2% contribution to that number is 0.00096 C. Delaying our Paris commitments will have virtually no effect on the temperature in 2100. It will certainly have no “measurable” effect on the temperature in 2100. Spending billions to trillions for no measurable temperature reduction is ludicrous, stupid, economic suicide, genocidal, etc. etc. Refer to OPPS-7 (CAGW implications) for more descriptors.
JT is lined up directly behind the UN on every globalist, New World Order initiative. The most recent abomination is the “Great Reset” being pushed by the World Economic Forum (WEF). Check out Action Alberta’s blog post (#154, “The Great Reset – Alberta will be destroyed!”) for a detailed “Great Reset” discussion with document links. The Reader’s Digest Version; the COVID-19 pandemic response (lockdowns, wide scale societal mandates, etc.) is being merged with the “Climate Change Crisis/Emergency/Disruption/Next Scary Descriptor” to force society to comply to the UN’s relentless drive to a One World Government. Laid out nicely in the UN Agenda 21 and 2030 Agenda reports. That folks, is an unelected, unaccountable (and corrupt) bureaucracy that will control every aspect of your lives (i.e.: democratic socialism, communism, Marxism, totalitarianism, etc.). Call it whatever you want but the end result will look exactly like Venezuela (the most recent attempt at a socialist Utopia). And it is coming sooner than you think if Trump (like him or not) does not win the November 3rd election.
Combining the COVID-19 and Climate Change discussions is not a surprising revelation. Both subjects use the same general approach to manipulate the general public. They start with FEAR (exaggerated potential outcomes, speculative scenarios, cherry picked data, sensationalized reporting, etc.). They resort to pseudoscience by ignoring any real science that does not comply with the mainstream narrative (i.e.: the consensus). I will call that targeted OMISSIONS. They both use unsubstantiated COMPUTER MODELS to build their “proofs” because they do not have the EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS to back up their theories/hypothesis/narrative. So, I think we can sum up their approach as FEAR, OMISSIONS, COMPUTER MODELS and non-EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS (FOCMEA). Apply your best Italian phonetics to the acronym and you can get a good idea of what the “experts” and “authoritative sources” are doing to us, the general public.
I do not pretend to be an expert in any field. I do however know how to evaluate data and I understand the scientific method. Here is Britannica’s description of the scientific method, “In a typical application of the scientific method, a researcher develops a hypothesis, tests it through various means, and then modifies the hypothesis on the basis of the outcome of the tests and experiments. The modified hypothesis is then retested, further modified, and tested again, until it becomes consistent with observed phenomena and testing outcomes.”. Strange that nowhere in that description does Britannica say that the data should be modified to fit the hypothesis. Yet that is how “climate science” incorrectly applies the scientific method. I am still waiting for someone (scientist or not) to put forward an empirical CO2/temperature dataset that shows CO2 driving the climate on any statistically significant historical time scale. Spoiler alert, that data set does not exist. The CAGW hypothesis is therefore nothing more than an unscientific (dangerous) narrative.
COVID-19 has many of the same data problems. For example, there are no empirical studies that show masks can stop the spread of the virus. And all the recent reporting focuses on the number of cases, ignoring the hospitalization rates and deaths. Not much of a pandemic without serious hospitalization rates and/or deaths. And we need to remember that the lockdown approach also has negative societal implications (additional suicides, spousal and child abuse, drug abuse, delayed medical diagnose/treatments for other serious medical conditions, etc.) that are not being properly factored into the analysis. I presented a lot of data and links in my Political Short Story (PSS-1).
Data for both the Climate Change and COVID-19 discussions is available for review on my website (climatechangeandmusic.com). Alternatively, the links are there so the reader can download and analyze the data themselves. As always, I give my opinion/interpretation, but I strongly encourage the reader to review the data and think for yourself. You will find that the data does not back up the narrative on either subject.
I obviously have some major issues with JT on the Climate Change and COVID-19 files. If only it stopped there. This federal government has been plagued with serious scandals and incompetence (WE, SNC Lavalin, Vice-Admiral Mark Norman, Aga Khan, etc. to mention a few). And most recently, he has decided to blame Alberta for the political divisions within Canada. No, JT that is ALL on you! Jason Kenney is a federalist (as am I for the most part) but I still have issues with his approach. Things have become increasingly clear that the only way for Alberta (the West in general) to get treated fairly is by putting separation on the table and be willing to follow through. The separation sentiment is real and widespread.
